Sickness is something we are all familiar with to one degree or another. Everyone has had the occasional bout with a viral or bacterial infection, or had some form of ailment in their lifetime. But why do we get sick and why do some get sick while others don’t? What is the energetic mechanism of sickness and what purpose does it serve? These are questions that doctors and other healers have debated since the concept of disease became apparent.
Stress is a factor in 99% of all sickness. It weakens the body’s natural immune system which then opens the door to a host of viral and bacterial attacks. Chronic stress is the cause of organ and organ system breakdown in the body resulting in heart disease and other major health disorders. Aging is greatly accelerated by stress. Science is aware of this, but understands very little about the mechanism of stress and how it interferes with normal body functioning. We also seem to do very little on the preventative side of disease, instead focusing almost entirely upon treating the acute condition of the body once sickness has already taken hold.
Stress is created through electrical and chemical imbalances in the body. These imbalances may result from external stimuli acting upon the body or originate internally due to thoughts or fears resulting in an overabundance of hormones being released into the body. Unfortunately, stress cannot be eliminated entirely from our lives, but it can be controlled.
Sickness serves a purpose. Besides the trite phrase of “you’ve got to die of something”, sickness is a form of stress release. The true nature of stress is energy blockage within our energy body. Our energy body extends out infinitely in all directions. It is composed of subtle energies which coalesce in its center in the form of a physical body. Throughout the energy body, there are energy pathways which allow consciousness to transverse the entire system. Blockage along these pathways inhibits the flow of consciousness.
The Chinese developed the practice of acupuncture to deal with the body imbalances in the physical (core) body. Acupuncture treats the energy body at a superficial level and attempts to bring energy systems into balance, thereby allowing the body to heal itself. By stimulating specific acupuncture points upon the physical body with needles or with heat or cold, it is surmised that energy blockages in the energy pathways, or meridians, can be broken up, allowing free movement of the “Chi”, or life-force energy. Although effective in treating a multitude of physical conditions, acupuncture falls short in treating the rest of the energy body and does little to address viral or bacterial conditions. It does, however, give us insight into the energetic influences that control the body’s wellbeing.
Most proponents of modern medicine do not believe in an evolutionary process of the soul, which includes a multitude of lifetimes on different planes of existence. They believe in what science tells them is true and evidenced through Scientific Method. Everything else is considered speculation and is subject to doubt. This has proven to be a practical and effective way to approach the topic of sickness. The problem, however, has been that sickness is still prevalent in the world in great abundance. The successes in treating the symptoms and causes of many illnesses have all but been overshadowed by the introduction of new sicknesses and immunity of previous germs to modern antibiotics. The collective body of illness in the world has hardly diminished. This is because, with all the advances of modern medicine, the nature and purpose of sickness is still not understood.
Releasing energy blockages from your energy body is the correct path towards eliminating sickness in your physical body. The process, however, is much broader than can be addresses through acupuncture. It must include the entire energy body. Every aspect of your energy body reflects into your current lifetime. Blockage anywhere within your energy will influence your state of health, the events in your life the thoughts you create. Sickness is our soul’s attempt to clear blockage from within our energy body. But there is another way!
Clearing blockage from your entire energy body is a matter of intent. To set intent, you must first be able to envision what it is that you intend. Having a clear concept of what you want to accomplish will allow your “higher self” to become active and begin the clearing process. It is often necessary to find some support, not only to begin the initial realignment of the subtle bodies, but to also monitor the progress you are making and give encouragement and answer questions along the way. I have described this process in my book, Energetic Awakening, which is available for free on my website www.sacredspots.com. I hope this will prove to be a useful tool on your path to higher consciousness and improved health!
